Education: DPT, BHSc, Diploma Massage Therapy
Dex completed his Doctor of Physiotherapy degree at the University of Melbourne after practicing as a Registered Massage Therapist in British Columbia. Dex’s philosophy utilizes his skills in manual therapy as well as an evidenced-based approach of exercise and movement retraining which is unique to each individual. Whether you are an aspiring professional athlete or recreational weekend runner, Dex loves to help people of all levels to be the strongest and healthiest they can be.
Dex’s story as a physiotherapist initially began as a patient. While playing on several high-level soccer teams, including Jr. Whitecaps and University teams, Dex gained first-hand experiences on the importance of physiotherapy and rehabilitation. This eventually led to developing a passion in helping athletes of all levels successfully return to physical activity and sport.
His passion eventually led him to work with high-level athletes in many different sport settings. Dex was fortunate enough to be an intern physiotherapist at the UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas in 2019. During his tenure, he worked alongside industry leaders in Physiotherapy and Strength and Conditioning to rehabilitate and reduce injury risks among highly ranked UFC fighters.
Dex is excited to join the team of passionate physiotherapists at Synergy and be part of the ConnectTherapy™ Residency program under the mentorship of Dr. LJ Lee.
He is also certified in APPI’s Pilates Matwork and certified in Dry Needling as accredited by the Australian Physiotherapy Association.
